Pam
Rowen
Pam Rowen has been playing piano/
keyboards and singing
professionally for over 20 years. While
attending the University of California, San Diego, she supplemented her income
playing weekly in a jazz duo with Lori Bell on flute (who was nominated for a Grammy for
best jazz instrumental solo in 1999), as well as, various other groups in the
San Diego area. After college she returned to her roots in Colorado and has
continued to play music- playing piano bars, and backing up various vocalists
such as Rockhouse Blues recording artist-Tommy Thomas and more recently played
with JazzFX, and Contimba- a Cuban influenced jazz group.
Some of her biggest jazz
influences have been Carmen Macrae, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Mose
Allison, Bill Evans, to name a few. Now, with her own trio, Pam has returned to
her jazz roots. Her warm sultry voice and swinging style captivates her audiences
Pam now leads her own jazz trio with which she enjoys playing and
singing the jazz classics as well as originals.
She also plays a variety of venues as a single and
with various groups in the Denver area including playing
with her husband Steve in a blues and R&B band.
